Welcome to Te Puia! - aka The NZ Maori Arts & Crafts Institute, we pride ourselves in being New Zealand's premier Maori Culture and Geothermal experience.

On site we have 55 unique experiences covering:

- The largest natural geyser in the southern hemisphere "Pohutu"

- 2 live Kiwi birds in a nocturnal viewing enclosure

- Maori culture including 3 on site carving and weaving.

Get a "Te Ra" Day pass (daily 8 am - 5 pm) and choose whether to travel yourself using STQRY as a guide, or feel free to jump on one of our world class tours that leave hourly and take 60-90 mins.

Take a "Kai Ngawha" Steambox lunch tour (daily 11 am - 1.30 pm) and have a behind the scenes tour including a hands on weaving activity

Or.. Relax and enjoy on our "Te Po" (nightly 6 pm - 9 pm) and enjoy a cultural show, an all you can eat gourmet hangi (traditionally steam cooked) meal and finish at the floodlit geysers with a delicious hot chocolate.
