This building was once an early Taupō Post Office (1911 - 1940), then the Taupō Library until 1992 and has been added to many times.

  • <p>This carved house (Whare Whakairo) is named 'Te Aroha o Rongoheikume' and was carved by Tene Waitere of the Ngāti Tarāwhai and Ngā Puhi people.</p>
  • <p>This tōtara waka (canoe) was discovered in the 1960s. Visit the Taupō Museum to view the waka inside the Tūwharetoa Room.</p>
